Selected from over 19,000 applicants, I launched my entertainment career as a Production Assistant / Intern on Telemundo’s three-time Emmy-winning morning show, Un Nuevo Día (now Hoy Día). I gained immediate, hands-on experience in live television, including producing original cooking segments. Check out a selection of content I created during the internship below.
First Latina Chef to Headline the Super Bowl (Interview)
Talk about a Super Bowl scoop! Back in 2019, I had the opportunity to interview Dayani Cruz, the Hard Rock Stadium's Dominican Head Chef and the first Latina to helm the Super Bowl menu for the 2020 Miami showdown! My Supervising Producer, Carlos Alzate, entrusted me with capturing her inspiring story and some mouthwatering visuals. The piece was shown right before Un Nuevo Día’s chef James would go live with Dayani herself to whip up some game-day treats.
Got my hands dirty (literally) working on this interview package. I got to explore the gorgeous urban oasis of "Midtown Garden Center" in Wynwood. The owner, Ninfa Diaz, shared her vision for bringing this green haven to Miami. My team and I captured the story and a live cooking demo with one of their talented chefs. I then teamed up with an editor to bring the whole vibrant piece to life.

Summer Music Video
As if being a part of a morning show wasn’t enough experience… our team hit South Beach for an epic 10+ hour music video shoot for Un Nuevo Día’s summer anthem. I helped assist every department that day – you might even spot me holding a giant beach ball! Click if you're brave enough… this tune is seriously catchy.
Summary/Reel
A sweet farewell! One of the team’s editors made a video of my highlights from the show. You'll see my nervous TV debut on National Intern Day (please don’t mind my Spanish; it has improved immensely since then).
